This position will assist the site Routine Facilitators, Finishing Superintendent, and plant management in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all improvement aspects within their area of responsibility. The laborer is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to scrap metals and recycling. The laborer must have the ability to learn and a strong work ethic. The laborer will assist in several aspects of daily operations such as scrap inspection, sortation, and general yard maintenance as directed. Qualifications for this position include a four year college degree in Engineering combined with up to 8 to 10 years of industrial experience.
The incumbent should be a specialist in at least 1 engineering field as well as have extensive training and experience in project management or construction. Successful candidate must be able to apply engineering fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of CAPEX, independently assess bids for both installation and equipment, and maximize the efficiency of the overall department operations. The incumbent will visit customers as required when there is a technical issue with the product or new product development opportunities. Additionally, the incumbent will be a technical resource to customers for product requirements.
